This image was captured on a cool June afternoon from Lago di Misurina at the Dolomites. It’s a really special image for me because it was rewarded as one of the best images of the year 2019, in the World’s Best Photographers & Artists group.
The weather in the Dolomites can be very unpredictable, even in the summer. For three days straight, we experienced constant rain, day and night, preventing us from venturing out to take photographs. Finally, when the rain ceased and the clouds began to disperse, revealing the sun entering though the clouds and illuminating the peaks of the Tre Cime, I grabbed my camera and took this image.
